Malcolm Cotton, Managing Director

Malcolm founded the agency that is now ChemistryTM in 1992 following a management buy-out. A direct marketing expert and passionate brand advocate, Malcolm is a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing and has over 15 years’ experience in marketing technology brands. As the agency’s head of planning, Malcolm takes an active role in all key accounts.

 

Richard Beagley, Business Development Director

Richard joined the company in 1999 from VNU Business Publications where he was a Group Sales Manager within the corporate computing division, working on titles such as Computing, PC Week and Computer Reseller News. Richard’s focus at ChemistryTM is on developing new business and client services with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.

Ann-Maria O’Riordan, Media Director

Ann Maria joined the company in 1998 from her role as Account Manager in various agencies focusing on the IT sector. Responsible for strategic media planning and buying, she is committed to offering creative solutions in any medium to a portfolio of international technology clients, whilst managing the ChemistryTM media team.

 

Martin Brophy, Client Services Director

Martin joins ChemistryTM with over 20 years marketing and sales experience in the technology sector. This includes roles as General Manager of European Operations with Gyro, European Marketing Director with Iomega and several years as Digital / Compaq’s Marketing and Communications Director, UK and Ireland. Martin brings an in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the communications and PR mix to his role in strategic planning and client relationship management.

 

Nick Baggott, Head of Consulting

Nick Baggott is Head of Consulting at Chemistry Communications Group PLC. Previously, Nick was Group Client Service Director at Chemistry responsible for driving CRM strategies for the Agency’s Clients including Microsoft, Diageo, Kodak, Yell, Toshiba, Unilever, SCA, Nestle & Transport for London.

Nick has been involved with Training & Consultancy since the Agency was created in 1995. Prior to the floatation, he was responsible for co-ordinating & delivering in-house training for the Agency and has been running Client training sessions for 3 years. He has been the Agency’s Chief CRM consultant for the last 5 years developing CRM strategy for a number of global organisations.

Nick has been trained by AchieveGlobal in mentoring, interpersonal managing skills, consultative selling & account development strategies and has passed their “Train the Trainer” exams. He delivers 6 modules for Microsoft’s Marketing Academy (see above) in UK & EMEA, consistently achieving scores >8/10 in delegate feedback. He has also delivered Client training for Yell & MSN.

As a CRM consultant, Nick has a proven record in winning and developing large scale CRM assignments. He led the team that won the Microsoft UK, Transport for London, Diageo, Toshiba & Kodak pitches and led the CRM team following appointment.

Nick now heads up the Consulting Division at Chemistry, which works with Surrey Police, Microsoft, Diageo, The Forum for Incident Security & Response Teams and is on the COI’s Marketing Consultancy roster.

Mike Cavers, Executive Creative Director

Mike joined Chemistry from Publicis Dialog for whom he won numerous creative awards, and was instrumental in delivering integrated communications solutions for Allied Domecq Zurich, Powergen, Renault, Hewlett Packard, McArthurGlen and Nobel Biocare. His previous senior creative roles include European Creative Director Integration for TBWA/H Amsterdam and Creative Director for Tequila/Payne Stracey.

 

Robin Jaffray, Strategy and Planning Director

Robin has many years’ experience at agencies such as Leo Burnett, FCB, Publicis and McCann-Erickson. He has developed Cannes and Effie winning integrated communication strategies, audience insight and segmentations, plus brand propositions across a wide variety of consumer, business and technology brands – all over the world.

 

Andrew Roberts, Promotional Marketing Director

Over the past 12 years, Andrew has worked on the delivery of promotional marketing solutions for a traditional integrated agency – as a partner in a brand experience agency, and client side at Hasbro and Virgin. Andrew is responsible for the formulation and delivery of in-store, third party and brand experience activity for all of Chemistry’s clients.

 

Lee Witherall, Director of Analytics

Lee has 15 years’ experience in database marketing and analysis across a number of sectors including financial services, telecoms, charities and mail order. Lee has previously held senior analytical and consultancy roles at Claritas, Equifax and Tri-Direct, and developed consumer segmentations, prospect pools, customer acquisition and retention propensity models and spatial solutions for some of the UK’s largest direct marketing organisations.

 

Andy Griffiths, Vice President of North American Operations

Andy has worked with the company since 2004 and runs ChemistryTM’s US office. With over a decade of experience in European business and consumer publishing, Andy is focused on the needs of North American technology companies who may be taking their first steps in Europe or who are looking to create a greater relationship with their target market.
