ChemistryTM was the first PR agency willing to do this.

What we offer clients:

  • Extensive experience in developing sound strategic plans and creatively developing them into engaging campaigns
  • A commitment to specific and measurable results for all campaigns. In our view, targets are only valid if they cover quality metrics, so this is what we do
  • Consultants trained to anticipate audience and client demands, to be creative on a daily basis and to rise to the challenge of problem solving

BSA – Handling global announcements in EMEA

The Business Software Alliance (www.bsa.org) is the foremost organisation dedicated to promoting a safe and legal digital world. Its members represent one of the fastest growing industries in the world. BSA programmes foster technology innovation through education and policy initiatives that promote copyright protection, cyber security, trade and e-commerce.

Project
Global Software Piracy Study media announcement.

Activity
Support BSA EMEA’s most important media announcement of the year, the annual Global Software Piracy Study, for the third year running.

Objective
Devise and implement an effective media strategy for the Global Software Piracy Study in a year when the research methodology changed substantially. Create appropriate materials for media and agency use across EMEA to ensure successful coverage generation. Target Pan-EMEA business titles and broadcasters.

Delivery
ChemistryTM worked closely with BSA EMEA to create appropriate positioning and message content for the announcement and to develop this into an effective media strategy for the region. The team also prepared a range of media materials as well as agency and spokesperson briefing documents for use across EMEA. Additionally, ChemistryTM arranged BSA EMEA’s first international media conference call. ChemistryTM was the key liaison for IDC’s EMEA spokesperson and was also tasked with targeting Pan-EMEA business and broadcast media plus Brussels-based policy media with the announcement.

Results
A 47% increase in coverage in EMEA made this the most successful announcement since the Global Study was developed ten years earlier. Over 1,000 items of coverage were generated in the region.

In addition to a global exclusive with Reuters, BSA EMEA’s VP had over 20 interviews including CNBC Europe, BBC World Service, International Herald Tribune, Wall Street Journal Europe, The Financial Times and Newsweek International. Interviews with newswires Associated Press and Dow Jones plus a number of key policy publications also took place. Comprehensive articles appeared in the key international daily publications the following morning.

Media from across the region attended the Pan-EMEA teleconference with the BSA and IDC, generating strong articles in countries unable to host a press conference on the ground.

nCircle – UK launch sets platform for success

nCircle is the leading provider of enterprise-class vulnerability and risk management solutions. Global enterprises and government agencies rely on nCircle’s proactive security solutions to identify, measure, manage and reduce security risk on their worldwide networks. nCircle has won numerous industry awards for innovation and technology leadership. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, CA, with regional offices throughout the USA and in London, Toronto and Tokyo.

Project
UK launch campaign.

Activity
Introduce nCircle to the UK media and establish the company’s security credentials.

Objective
ChemistryTM was appointed in August 2005 and tasked with launching the company to the UK media and analyst community in September.

Delivery
With no UK-based spokespeople or user references, ChemistryTM faced a challenge in obtaining media attention, particularly in the crowded security market. ChemistryTM worked fast to create media recognition for nCircle by proactively tackling features opportunities and succeeded in securing eight interviews in the first month alone, in addition to placing whitepapers and opinion articles. ChemistryTM recommended that the UK launch story was supplemented by the use of a small-scale research project to create an issues platform for the company. The agency devised and managed this process in its entirety.

Results
With the attendance of two US spokespeople, ChemistryTM arranged a two-day media tour taking in nine one-to-one briefings with tier one media as well as meetings with Gartner, Butler and Forrester. Over 25 items of coverage ensued in the first three months of the campaign; ChemistryTM hit its six month activity and quantity targets in half the predicted time.

Quality targets were equally impressive:

  • 100% of coverage in tier 1 & 2 titles
  • 78% coverage with key message inclusion
  • 100% accuracy rating
  • 100% positive to neutral tone

MailFrontier – The fast track to impressive results

Founded in 2002, MailFrontier is the leading global provider of e-mail security solutions that protect organisations against threats such as spam and viruses, provide control for content compliance and enable consolidation of e-mail infrastructure. The MailFrontier platform provides power without complexity. With more than 1500 enterprise customers worldwide, MailFrontier is headquartered in Palo Alto, California and has offices in Europe.

Project
‘Phishmas’ broadcast campaign.

Activity
Generate awareness of MailFrontier in the pre-Christmas period.

Objective
ChemistryTM was tasked with devising and implementing a strategy to deliver Tier 1 media coverage in the pre-Christmas period following its appointment in November. MailFrontier was concerned that news should still be educational, issues-led and appeal to a broad target audience. ChemistryTM PR also needed to meet the challenge of limited access to UK-based spokespeople.

Delivery
Working hard to get up to speed fast, ChemistryTM liaised closely with MailFrontier’s US marketing team to develop a news story to appeal to broadcasters. The chosen issue was ‘threats to online retail in the UK’ and was supplemented with predictions for online fraud through phish attacks and a three-point safety advisory. Broadcast training for MailFrontier’s UK spokesperson was arranged and delivered at short notice. ChemistryTM conducted targeted out-reach to key contacts within broadcasters and online media.

Results
ChemistryTM arranged a series of live and pre-recorded interviews for MailFrontier with a range of BBC radio stations. In total nine interviews were broadcast on the World Service, Radio 4, BBC London, BBC Wales and BBC Asian Network. The story was segmented to appeal to different audiences and consequently attracted attention from both breakfast and business programming. In addition, the story was covered online by news and security titles and was picked up in online chat forums.
